Zašto se danas poslovni lideri okreću stoicizmu?

Zatražite da preduzetnika da navedu svoj najveći izazov i čućete mnogo različitih odgovora: donošenje teških odluka, određivanje prioriteta, zadržavanje pozitivnog stava, održavanje tempa rada. Popis će zasigurno biti mnogo duži. Ali kao što svi znamo, pokretanje i vođenje firme nije za one “slabog srca”.

No pitate li preduzetnike imaju li mentalni okvir koji će im pomoći da se nose s tim izazovima – možda će im na to pitanje biti teže odgovoriti, piše Manager.ba.

A šta kada bih vam rekao da takav mentalni okvir možete pronaći u školi filozofije koja datira iz perioda drevne Grčke? I da vam ona može pomoći da se svakodnevno nosite s poslovnim izazovima, a dodatno može čak obogatiti i kvalitet svog ličnog života? Ne morate biti naučnik da biste osmislili kako je implementirati u svoj život. Reč je o stoicizmu, praktičnoj filozofiji koju koriste neki od najvećih poslovnih umova danšnjice, uključujući Tima Ferisa, Rajana Holideja, Arianu Hafington i Džeka Dorsija.

 

Car Marko Aurelije bio je veliki sledbenik stoicizma što mu je pomoglo da gotovo dve decenije vodi Rim. Aurelije je zapisivao svoja zapažanja u dnevnik koji je kasnije objavljen pod naslovom Meditacije. Stoicizam je Aureliju bio vodič za čestit život, pomažući mu da se, usprkos teškoćama koje su ga pratile, usredsredi na ono što je važno i trajno. U svojim Meditacijama zapisao je: “Naše akcije mogu biti ometene… ali naše namere i karakter – ne”.

 

Kao preduzetnici, ne možemo kontrolisati svaki faktor koji utiče na našu firmu, ali možemo prihvatiti lekciju stoicizma i kontrolisati naše vlastite akcije i reakcije. Imajući to na umu, evo nekoliko lekcija iz stoicizma koje vam mogu pomoći da uspešno vodite svoju firmu:

 

1. Kako postaviti prioritete

“Ako tražite mir, radite manje. Ili (tačnije): radite ono što je od esencijalne važnosti. Radite manje, ali bolje. Jer većina onoga što radimo ili kažemo nije od esencijalne važnosti.”

Vreme je najdragocenija stvar koju imamo na raspolaganju, posebno u startap svetu. Ključno je usmeriti energiju na zadatke koji vode našu firmu napred, na zadatke koje je Aurelije nazvao”esencijalnim”. Jednom, kada počnete tako raditi, veća je verovatnoća da ćete ostvariti svoje poslovne ciljeve, bilo da je reč o širenju baze korisnika, ulasku na novo tržište ili o nekom drugom cilju.

Potrebno je sprovesti automatizaciju gdegod je to moguće i delegirati one zadatke koje jednako tako kvalitetno mogu uraditi vaši saradnici.

 

2. Kako kontrolisati stres

Epiktet, istaknuti grčki filozof koji je jedan od važnijih predstavnika kasnog stoicizma, napisao je da je glavni cilj stoicizma “identifikovati i razdvojiti stvari i događaje za koje jasno možemo reći da su eksterni i nisu pod našom kontrolom i one za koje možemo reći da su pod našom kontrolom i na koje možemo uticati”.

Preduzetnici se svakodnevno suočavaju s različitim pritiscima: rokovima, količinom preuzetih obveza, očekivanjima investitora i pritužbama kupaca. Često se taj pritisak pretvara u hronični stres. A to ne samo da nije dobro za naše zdravlje, već pati i naše poslovanje jer, pod stresom, razina naše produktivnosti neprestano opada.

Neki ljudi se, međutim, bolje nose s pritiskom. Oni, između ostalog, prepoznaju ono o čemu je Epiktet govorio – koje stvari i događaje mogu kontrolisati, a koje ne. Stoga se fokusiraju samo na ove prve te tako štede svoje vreme i promovišu pozitivnu kulturu rada.

 

3. Kako zaustaviti prokrastinaciju

“Nije nam dan kratak život, već ga sami činimo kratkim jer previše vremena trošimo uzalud.”

Važno načelo stoicizma je ne gubiti vreme i živeti svaki dan kao da nam je poslednji. Ideja o tome da osveste svoju smrtnost može uplašiti neke ljude, no ona treba da utiče pozitivno jer vas motiviše da živite u sadašnjosti i ne odlažete stvari.

U pismu svom starijem bratu Seneka opisuje metodu koja mu pomaže da najbolje iskoristi svaki dan. On bi na kraju svakog dana postavio nekoliko pitanja:

  • Kako sam danas postao bolji?
  • Šta sam radio sa svojim vremenom?
  • Kakvi su bili moji rezultati?

Uvrstite ovo u svoju svakodnevnu rutinu i razvićete veći osećaj odgovornosti i nećete ostavljati poslove nezavršenim.

 

4. Kako ići dalje uprkos strahu

Da biste bili korak ispred konkurencije, morate biti inovativni. A inovativnost uključuje i rizik – kalkulisani, ali ipak rizik.

Mogli biste pomisliti da su najbolji lideri lišeni svih strahova, no to nije tako. Oni su jednostavno naučili da se nose se sa svojim strahovima i, uprkos njima, da idu dalje. I kao što bi vam svaki stoik rekao: beskorisno je priželjkivati ​​da su stvari na svetu drugačije. Umesto toga, trebalo bi da naučimo da delamo u situaciji onakvoj kakva ona jeste, a to podrazumeva i da naučimo da živimo sa svojim strahom koji se prirodno pojavljuje u određenim situacijama.
